Global Affairs Canada Issues Travel Guidance Amid Middle East Disruptions

Global Affairs Canada has released updated travel guidance for Canadians planning trips abroad this summer, citing potential disruptions arising from the situation in the Middle East. Fuel shortages are expected to lead to flight cancellations and limit access to goods and services in several regions. Travellers are advised to consult airlines and travel agents regarding possible itinerary changes before departure and upon return. The government stresses that its ability to provide consular assistance may be limited and recommends verifying travel insurance, planning financially for unexpected extended stays, and ensuring validity of documents and required visas. Risks associated with hurricane season are also flagged for those traveling to affected regions.
