- Department of the Air Force Fiscal Year 2027 Budget Request: The House Armed Services Committee will hold a hearing on May 20 to review the Air Force budget request for fiscal year 2027, with testimony from Secretary Troy Meink, General Kenneth Wilsbach, and General B. Saltzman.
- U.S. Military Posture and National Security Challenges in the Greater Middle East and Africa: Scheduled for May 19, the House Armed Services Committee will meet with senior defense officials to examine military posture and security issues in the Middle East and Africa.
- Science and Technology Priorities in Defense Authorization Request for FY 2027: The Senate Armed Services Subcommittee on Emerging Threats and Capabilities will hold an open hearing May 19 to review defense science and technology priorities for FY 2027 and future years.

Federal Register: Proposed $11.9 Billion U.S. Arms Sale to Germany for Maritime Defense
The Department of Defense has issued notice of a proposed $11.9 billion sale to Germany, consisting of eight shipsets of AEGIS-based Integrated Combat System MK 6 Mod X infrastructures, advanced radars (AN/SPY-6(V)1), MK 41 Baseline VIII Vertical Launch Systems, and Cooperative Engagement Capability among other maritime defense equipment. The package includes GPS navigation, gun mounts, electronic warfare systems, radar systems, inertial navigation, cryptographic tools, support software, training, spare parts, and technical support. Principal contractors named are Lockheed Martin Corporation and RTX Corporation. Germany is assessed as capable of safeguarding SECRET-level technology and integrating the systems with U.S. and NATO forces. The sale supports U.S. objectives of strengthening NATO and regional stability.

Federal Register: Major Value Increase in U.S.-Canada Joint Light Tactical Vehicles Program
Congress was notified of an amended value for Canada's purchase of M1278A2 and M1279A2 Joint Light Tactical Vehicles, associated weapon stations, positioning systems, and radio sets. The revised estimate is $195 million, reflecting recent cost increases but no additional items or MDE. The program includes engineering, integration, depot-level maintenance, training, and technical support. MDE remains at $30 million, supporting integration with U.S. and NATO continental defense operations.

Federal Register: Proposed Sale of 10,000 APKWS-II Rockets to Israel
The Defense Department announced a proposed $992.4 million Foreign Military Financing sale to Israel for 10,000 Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System-II tactical rockets and supplementary equipment, including test support, spare parts, training, and logistics. BAE Systems will be principal contractor. The deal supports Israel’s integration and deployment for air-to-air and air-to-ground mission profiles, with technology classified as SECRET.

Federal Register: LICENSING - Export Licenses for Defence Articles and Services
