IRS Publishes Inflation Adjustment Factor for Clean Electricity Production Credit for 2026

The Internal Revenue Service issued a notice detailing the inflation adjustment factor and applicable amounts for the section 45Y clean electricity production credit for calendar year 2026. The published inflation adjustment factor is 2.0570, calculated from the GDP implicit price deflators for 2025 and 1992. For 2026, applicable credit amounts are set at 0.6 cents per kWh for facilities that do not meet alternative requirements, and 3.1 cents per kWh for facilities satisfying wage and apprenticeship criteria or with specific output parameters. These details are relevant for electricity sales, consumption, or storage at qualified U.S. facilities. Stakeholders may reference the Internal Revenue Bulletin and direct questions to the IRS Office of Chief Counsel.

FERC Combined Notice of Filings: Electric Corporate Transactions and Rate Amendments

Presidential Message on National Preparedness Month

FERC Accepts Application for Temporary Variance at Sturgis Hydroelectric Project, Michigan

The City of Sturgis, Michigan filed for temporary variance from impoundment elevation at the Sturgis Hydroelectric Project, St. Joseph River, to facilitate scheduled drawdown for critical dam safety improvements. Works to address seepage, slope stability, and ADA path construction are planned, with impoundment lowered approximately 2.9 feet post-Labor Day and remaining in a lowered state until April 2028. BLM Initiates Environmental Impact Statement for Silver Rock Transmission Line Project
