Executive Vice-President Roxana Mînzatu announced new social measures targeting poverty and disability. EMPL Committee endorses updated rules on coordination of social security systems

On 6 May, the Employment and Social Affairs Committee adopted the provisional agreement clarifying which Member State's legislation applies for EU mobile workers. The agreement covers unemployment, family, and long-term care benefits, introduces a mandatory prior notification system for posted workers, and provides guidance for workers in multiple Member States. Rapporteur Gabriele Bischoff (S&D) stated that the deal strengthens worker protection and cross-border coordination.

EMPL Committee adopts resolution calling for European Day in Remembrance of Victims of Accidents at Work

On 6 May, the committee voted to designate 8 August as a European Day for victims of work-related accidents and diseases.
