Government of Canada Invests Over $815,000 in Francophone and Bilingual Digital Health Innovation
On April 14, 2026, the Honourable Mona Fortier, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, announced an investment exceeding $815,000 to Institut du Savoir Montfort (ISM), funded through FedDev Ontario. The expansion of the Montfort Innovation Lab will support up to 20 digital health sector businesses in technology development and commercialization, offering access to guidance, research, and clinical settings. Strategic collaborations span Invest Ottawa, Capital Bioventure, CHEO, regional hospitals, and postsecondary partners, facilitating resource access and entrepreneurship for Francophone and bilingual digital health enterprises. This initiative is expected to enhance the demonstration of digital health solutions in Francophone communities and expand connections with front-line clinicians and applied research environments, shaping the regional innovation ecosystem.

6.5 Million Canadians Now Covered Under the Canadian Dental Care Plan
Health Canada reported on April 17, 2026, that the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) now covers more than 6.5 million Canadians, with more than 4 million individuals already accessing dental care through the program since its national expansion. CDCP members have saved an average of $900 annually, with many reporting their first dental visit in years. The government credits collaboration with oral health providers for enabling expanded access. Eligible participants are asked to confirm their eligibility for continued coverage between April 15 and June 1, 2026. Cyber Centre Launches CIREN: Critical Infrastructure Resilience and Escalated Threat Navigation Initiative
On April 17, 2026, the Communications Security Establishment’s Canadian Centre for Cyber Security introduced the CIREN initiative. Federal Labour Relations Framework Consultation Launches
