Federal Investments in Skilled Trades and Accelerated Home Construction in Halifax

On May 11, 2026, Minister Lena Metlege Diab visited DORA Construction in Dartmouth to discuss federal housing measures outlined in the Spring Economic Update 2026. Workforce Initiatives to Accelerate Housing in Calgary

Natural Resources Canada, represented by Corey Hogan, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, hosted a roundtable in Calgary on May 13 to address pressing housing issues. Federal and Nova Scotia Partnership Targets Tariff-Impacted Sectors

Canada and Alberta Announce Tariff Response Workforce Program

Federal Tribunal Issues Injury Finding on Chinese Unarmoured Building Cables

Major Federal Infrastructure Investments in Lincoln, Ontario

Federal Support for British Columbia's Forest Sector Transformation

Statistics Canada Releases New Industry Price and Workforce Data

Statistics Canada published several new datasets relevant to the construction and housing sector during the week. The Residential Renovation Price Index for Q1 2026 is now available, using 2023 as its base. The Architectural, Engineering and Related Services Price Index and the Consulting Services Price Index, both with 2018=100 bases, were released for Q1 2026 as well. Also published was an employment-by-industry interactive dashboard for rural Canada, including April 2026 reference data, aiding in sectoral analysis and workforce planning.

Alberta and Canada Commit $323 Million for Affordable Housing
