Motor vehicle manufacturing drives December manufacturing sales increase

Statistics Canada reported on February 16 that national manufacturing sales rose 0.6% in December 2025, with motor vehicles and food products accounting for the majority of the overall gain. Retail sales for motor vehicle and parts dealers decline in December

According to data released by Statistics Canada on February 20, retail sales fell 0.4% to $70.0 billion in December 2025. The decrease was driven mainly by lower sales at motor vehicle and parts dealers, one of three subsectors showing declines. Industrial Product and Raw Material Price Indexes jump in January
