Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2026/1214 updates brake particle emissions testing requirements for Euro 7
On 3 September 2026, Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2026/1214 was published in the Official Journal, amending Regulation (EU) 2024/1257 concerning the conditions for testing compliance with brake particle emission limits. The amendment replaces reference to UN Global Technical Regulation No 24 with UN Regulation No 179, reflecting recent technological advances in laboratory measurement for light-duty vehicles and harmonising EU standards with international requirements. The regulation applies to categories M1 and N1, and Euro 7ext vehicles, and will take effect twenty days after publication. The regulation is binding and directly applicable across all Member States.
