Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2026/1930 imposes bilateral safeguard measures on steel imports
Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2026/1930 of 4 August 2026 establishes bilateral safeguard measures on imports of steel products covered by Regulation (EU) 2026/1384 and originating in countries with which the Union has concluded free trade agreements. The Regulation sets an out-of-quota duty at 50% ad valorem for imports from Albania, Israel, Jordan, Morocco, North Macedonia, Serbia, Switzerland, Tunisia, and Türkiye, once the specific tariff quotas are exhausted. The Commission's analysis, based on Eurostat data from 2023-2025, identified increased import quantities and market share, leading to serious injury for the Union steel industry. The provisions entered into force the day following publication in the Official Journal.
Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2026/1907 specifies manufacturers' CO2 performance for 2024
Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2026/1907 of 29 July 2026 details the values relating to the performance of manufacturers and pools of manufacturers of new passenger cars and light commercial vehicles for the calendar year 2024, pursuant to Regulation (EU) 2019/631. The Decision is based on registration data submitted by national authorities, with corrections made following manufacturer notifications of errors. The Commission imposed excess emissions premiums on two passenger car manufacturers and two light commercial vehicle manufacturers, as specified by Article 8 of Regulation (EU) 2019/631. The Decision also applies adjustments to CO2 emission values following an in-service verification by the Swedish Transport Authority.
