CO2 Emissions: Amendments to Data Reporting for Heavy-Duty Vehicles
Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2026/1282 of 12 June 2026 amends and corrects Annexes IV and V to Regulation (EU) 2019/1242 on CO2 emission performance standards for new heavy-duty vehicles. The amendments refine the data monitoring and reporting requirements for manufacturers and Member States, specifying parameters for new vehicle types and components. Corrections address errors in reporting procedures and clarify data publication rules to protect commercially sensitive information. The regulation enters into force on 10 September 2026 and is directly applicable in all Member States.
Electric Powertrain Safety: Entry into Force of UN Regulation No 100
UN Regulation No 100 – Uniform provisions concerning the approval of vehicles with regard to specific requirements for the electric power train [2026/1695] was published on 17 August 2026 in the Official Journal. The regulation details technical and safety requirements for electric powertrains and rechargeable electrical energy storage systems (REESS) covering categories M, N, and O vehicles. The latest amendments, effective from 26 September 2025, update provisions on approval procedures, safety testing, and marking of high-voltage components. Transitional arrangements for type approvals apply until September 2029, with full enforcement after that date for new vehicle types.
