Registration of Jabłka krajeńskie (PGI) as Geographical Indication
Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2026/1899 of 28 July 2026, published in OJ L on 4 August 2026, enters 'Jabłka krajeńskie' (PGI) into the Union register of geographical indications under Regulation (EU) 2024/1143. Poland's application received no opposition following publication in OJ C/2026/2143. The regulation becomes effective twenty days after publication and applies directly across Member States.
Registration of Pernil Cerretà (PGI) as Geographical Indication
Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2026/1901 of 28 July 2026, published in OJ L on 4 August 2026, registers 'Pernil Cerretà' (PGI) in the Union register of geographical indications pursuant to Regulation (EU) 2024/1143. Spain's application was processed under Article 50(2)(a) of Regulation (EU) No 1151/2012, with no opposition received. The regulation is binding and directly applicable in all Member States.
Union Amendment Approved for Romagna PDO
Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2026/1920 of 31 July 2026, published in OJ L on 5 August 2026, approves an amendment to the product specification for the protected designation of origin 'Romagna' under Regulation (EU) 2024/1143. Italy's application was received under Regulation (EU) No 1308/2013. No statement of opposition was submitted, and the amendment is now in force.
Registration of Kiełbasa pradziada z Dukli (PGI) as Geographical Indication
Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2026/1927 of 31 July 2026, published in OJ L on 6 August 2026, registers 'Kiełbasa pradziada z Dukli' (PGI) in the Union register of geographical indications pursuant to Regulation (EU) 2024/1143. Poland's application was published in OJ C/2026/2144; no opposition was received. Christophe Hansen signed on behalf of the Commission.
Commission Decision on INRAP State Aid
Commission Decision (EU) 2026/1875 of 17 December 2025, published in OJ L on 7 August 2026, addresses State aid SA.51268 implemented by France for the French National Institute for Preventive Archaeological Research (INRAP). The Commission examined potential cross-subsidisation and subsidies for public service costs between 2008 and 2021. After a formal investigation, the Commission found the aid compatible with the internal market under Article 107(3)(d) TFEU, despite initial doubts regarding accounting separation. Teresa Ribera signed as Executive Vice-President.
Commission Decision on Poland’s Measures for Broadcast Events
Commission Decision (EU) 2026/1924 of 27 July 2026, published in OJ L on 5 August 2026, finds Poland’s measures for updating the list of designated broadcast events under Article 14(1) of Directive 2010/13/EU compatible with Union law. The Commission verified proportionality and transparency, and the Contact Committee adopted a favourable opinion. Henna Virkkunen signed as Executive Vice-President.
Registration of Citizens' Initiative: Stop Killing The Internet
Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2026/1921 of 22 July 2026, published in OJ L on 5 August 2026, registers the European citizens’ initiative ‘Stop Killing The Internet: No Digital ID & No Age Verification’ under Regulation (EU) 2019/788. The initiative calls for voluntary, privacy-preserving digital identity and age-assurance systems. Maroš Šefčovič signed for the Commission.
