The Bureau’s investigation had found that the proposed merger would likely reduce competition in the wholesale supply of certain canned and frozen vegetables, resulting in higher prices and fewer choices for Canadian consumers. The outcome is attributed to active enforcement efforts in Canada's food sector by the Bureau.
