Health Canada Extends NHP Labeling Compliance
Health Canada has issued a Ministerial Order extending the compliance deadline for new Natural Health Product (NHP) labeling requirements until June 2028. This decision follows stakeholder engagement sessions highlighting implementation challenges with the new labeling guidelines under the Food and Drugs Act. Suppliers now have an extended period to adjust, allowing further consultation on readability and compliance issues. This extension aims to avoid potential negative health outcomes from unreadable labels and reduce market entry barriers for new NHPs.
